All about OCI Compute Services

I will be covering here for OCI compute as it covers substantial weightage in exam and also lot of features has been added to the same since 2020.
So here it goes
OCI Compute is basically required anytime when you deploy application on OCI. Below is the instance creation flow at OCI.
As per the workload you can plan to get the option. OCI compute has rich portfolio on offerings. OCI gives option to bring your own hypervisor (BYOH) in Bare Metal option. Check it below Image says it all…

We define instance as Boot Volume which has OS & other packages installed and also has vNIC attached to it (Virtual Network Interface card) which basically gets the IP from the subnet it is created.
Now as per the requirement we can have shape of the Compute which is defined as
Shape = CPU + Memory + Bandwidth + Local Storage (Not for all)
In OCI supports multiple types of Processors Inte, AMD, ARM. Check it below in image
These defer in cost and performances and have flexible and fixed shapes(old option). Apart from that it has various combination of CPU & Memory and flexibles shapes where we have full control to slide and set it as per our requirement. We will be charges what we use only. Based on the requirement we can select and use :
Apart from that various capacity type are supported by OCI compute and we have many options which can be cost effective or consistent. If we have understanding of that it can save lot of cost and also give flexibility and consistency to business models.
Further at OCI we have security for Compute instance which hardens the firmware security using various combined options.
Also at Oracle you can get the guaranteed performance with lower cost and in case of occasional spikes it can be burst the CPU to full. This is cost saving option and is available with flexible instance.
So thats all about compute. Oracle has make all its certification free will Dec-2021 and this is the best time to learn and acquire all the latest feature update too on Oracle Cloud. So keep learning and yes keep cloud as your best bet always.
